About Us

OurMission

At Bricks for Good®, our mission is to bring fun, happiness, and hope to all children through the power of LEGO® play. We’re dedicated to providing experiences that foster imagination, learning, and social connection—enabling children to thrive and reach their full potential.

We firmly believe that every child deserves a childhood filled with laughter, creativity, and the opportunity to dream. Unfortunately, many children face challenging circumstances beyond their control that deprive them of this basic right. That’s why we’ve made it our purpose to bridge this gap and make a positive impact in their lives.

Our charity is driven by compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of the transformative power of LEGO play. We strive to create a world where all children—regardless of their background or circumstances—have equal access to the joys and benefits of LEGO bricks.

Through generous monetary and LEGO set donations from individuals, businesses, and community partners, we’re able to provide children with resources that ignite their imagination, develop essential skills, and build meaningful relationships. We work closely within our local communities, schools, libraries, and other nonprofit organizations to identify and reach those children who are most in need.

Bricks for Good operates with transparency, accountability, and integrity. We ensure that every LEGO set donation reaches the hands of a deserving child, and we continuously seek opportunities to expand our reach and impact. We rely on the dedication and support of volunteers, donors, and advocates who share our vision of creating a brighter future for all children.

Together, let’s build a world where every child experiences the joys of LEGO, where their dreams are nurtured, and where their potential knows no boundaries. Join us in our mission to bring smiles, laughter, and happiness to the lives of children and make a lasting difference in their journey toward a better tomorrow… one brick at a time.

In our vision, LEGO bricks are not just plastic playthings; they are catalysts for growth, empowerment, and social transformation. We strive to inspire a collective sense of responsibility, encouraging society to recognize the profound impact that LEGO can have on a child’s development and well-being. By raising awareness and advocating for the importance of LEGO play, we will foster a world where every child’s potential is nurtured and celebrated.

Together, we can create a future where the barriers of inequality crumble, and children are empowered to dream big, achieve their goals, and become change-makers in their own right. Let us unite in our vision of a world where every child’s laughter is heard, every imagination is ignited, and every heart is filled with hope.

Meet theFounder

Lee Barber is the founder and chairman of Bricks for Good. As a lifelong LEGO enthusiast, Lee recognized the extraordinary potential of using colorful plastic bricks as tools for learning, empowerment, and social change, especially for children who may not otherwise have access to safe, enriching environments.

Lee’s commitment to Bricks for Good is deeply personal. As a child, he experienced firsthand the challenges of growing up underprivileged, including exposure to dysfunction, abuse, poverty, neglect, and malnourishment. During those formative years, LEGO building became a refuge that offered a safe space where imagination, problem-solving, and creativity allowed him to thrive despite difficult circumstances. That experience left a lasting impression and ultimately inspired him to create opportunities for other children to experience the same sense of possibility and empowerment.

I was one of those children who were underprivileged and underserved. I definitely went through some difficult and trying times. So when I see kids like that today… I see myself in them.—Lee Barber

Motivated by this vision, Lee assembled a passionate team that shares his belief in the power of play. Together, they design and implement programs that foster creativity, encourage teamwork, promote education, and inspire innovation. The organization’s programs are carefully crafted to ensure that all childrenregardless of background or circumstanceshave access to experiences that nurture resilience, curiosity, and self-confidence.

Lee is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in humanities. His academic work emphasized interdisciplinary thinking and cultural awareness, culminating with a study tour in Rome, Italy and an independent capstone focused on the intersection of the human condition and technology. He remains actively engaged with his alma mater, serving on the Student Engagement Committee at Penn State Harrisburg, which connects students with mentorship opportunities and alumni resources. With this foundation, Lee combines his nonprofit leadership and professional expertise as president of East Shore Technology, LLC.

Service has been a consistent theme throughout Lee’s life. In addition to Bricks for Good, he has made meaningful contributions to the community through his work with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, supported at-risk youth on juvenile probation as a counselor with the Diakon Wilderness Center, served at the Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families, teaching assistant at the Free Library of Philadelphia, and participated in various mentoring and educational initiatives. He is also a founding member of The Well, a faith-based fellowship group that pursues and examines the New Testament gospel of Jesus Christ.

At his core, Lee believes that meaningful change happens when compassion is paired with action. Through his leadership, Bricks for Good continues to transform personal adversity into positive impact-creating spaces where children can build, imagine, and discover their own potential, one LEGO brick at a time.
